ValviChanvre, a family-run farm in the heart of southern Ardèche

In Valvignères, in the Ardèche, Maxime Crozier carries on a family tradition deeply rooted in the land. A farmer for three generations, he grew up surrounded by vineyards, the changing seasons and working the land.

Today, he continues this venture with the same high standards, tending the vines and expanding his hemp production since 2022.

This family-run farm is situated in a remarkable region, in the heart of southern Ardèche, in the Dardaillon Valley. Here, the land has long been steeped in a tradition of high-quality farming.

Already renowned in Gallo-Roman times for its wines, the village of Valvignères benefits from a natural environment and agricultural expertise that bring meaning to every crop. It is against this backdrop that Maxime has chosen to expand his business into CBD hemp.

A winegrower and winemaker, he manages several hectares of vineyards in partnership with the Alba-la-Romaine and Valvignières cooperative winery. But his personal journey has also led him to think differently about his profession.

This line of thinking sparked a desire to explore medical cannabis and CBD, using an organic, local, open-field farming approach. In 2022, he planted several varieties of hemp, brought in his first harvest and began selling it locally.

This diversification is no coincidence. It builds on an approach to work based on an understanding of the local terroir, respect for living things and a commitment to producing high-quality plants.

Here, cannabis is grown in open ground, outdoors, whilst respecting the natural balance of the environment. The farm is committed to organic farming standards, with a constant focus on providing products that are healthy and respectful of the environment and of consumers.

Another key strength of Valvichanvre is this blend of heritage and innovation.

On the one hand, a craft passed down through the generations, a deeply-rooted wine-growing culture, and a precise understanding of the soils and agricultural cycles. On the other, a commitment to a new approach to wine-making, carefully planned, cultivated with particular care and certified organic. This synergy has given rise to a family-run estate, rooted in its local area and focused on quality.

ValviChanvre is, above all, a story of family, the local terroir and a job well done. It represents a commitment to sustaining a well-known and respected piece of land by cultivating demanding, natural crops. It is also an invitation to discover products sourced from dedicated, local and authentic farming practices.
