OG Legendary

OG Legendary is a legendary strain that has become the gold standard for lovers of dense, fluffy buds. It is renowned for providing deep physical relaxation (body chill), ideal for the evening, without any cerebral or euphoric effects.
The original genetics of Legendary OG (notably the S1 and R1 lines) created by Thomas of High Alpine Genetics is a legendary strain (Type 3 / CBD), which has become the gold standard for enthusiasts of dense, fluffy buds. This is an ‘old-school’ strain, not to be confused with the new Platinum range (often crossed with Blood Orange Diesel):
Lineage and Origin
Genetically speaking, it is the result of a rigorous selection process from a packet of Legendary OG seeds, subsequently stabilised by High Alpine in the S1 (selfed) and then R1 (reversal) versions. It was a pure ‘Kush’ CBD strain, unlike many other modern hybrids which incorporate very fruity parents from the outset.
Aromatic Profile and Terpenes
That’s what made its reputation. Whilst the Platinum leans towards creamy and orange/lavender notes (via Blood Orange Diesel), the original Legendary OG is raw and dense.
Dominant notes: A massive, intense
, gassy-style hit. Base notes: Hints of fresh pine, wood and damp earth (Kush), accompanied in some phenotypes by a very subtle touch of dark berries (blackberry, grape, blackcurrant) and coffee/chocolate (the famous Chocolate Chip phenotype).
Appearance and Structure
Legendary OG is generally divided into two distinct phenotypes:
- A dark green, very resinous and compact phenotype.
- A deep purple phenotype, almost black beneath the trichomes.
The flowers produce dense, rather sticky buds, covered in a thick layer of trichomes that easily turn amber when ripe.
Effects
This is a strain with a very pronounced Indica dominance for a CBD strain. It is renowned for providing deep physical relaxation (body chill), ideal for the evening, without the cerebral or euphoric effect of Type 1 (THC) strains. It was the quintessential ‘couch-lock’ strain in the catalogue at the time.

After harvesting, the drying process is crucial to the quality of the CBD flowers.
Here are a few key points that illustrate its importance:
- Preserving Cannabinoids and Terpenes: Proper drying helps to preserve the cannabinoids and terpenes present in CBD flowers. These compounds are responsible for the therapeutic and aromatic effects of cannabis. Inadequate drying can lead to the degradation of these compounds, thereby reducing the quality and efficacy of the final product.
- Reducing the Risk of Mould and Rot: Properly drying CBD flowers helps to reduce the risk of mould and rot developing. By removing moisture, an environment is created that is less conducive to the growth of fungi and bacteria, which helps to maintain the quality and safety of the flowers.
- Improved Durability and Handling: Drying reduces the water content of CBD flowers, making them more durable and easier to handle. Properly dried flowers are less likely to crumble or lose their shape, making them easier to handle during processing or packaging.
- Optimising Aroma and Flavour: Controlled drying helps to preserve the characteristic aromas and flavours of CBD flowers. By avoiding drying that is too fast or too slow, the complex aroma and flavour profiles of cannabis can be preserved, contributing to a more enjoyable sensory experience for consumers.
In summary, the drying process is essential at Valvichanvre to preserve the quality, efficacy and safety of CBD flowers. Proper drying helps to retain the active compounds, reduce the risk of contamination and preserve the sensory characteristics of the final product, thereby helping to provide an optimal experience for consumers
CBD flowers are remarkably versatile in terms of how they can be used. Here are a few ways to consume them:
- Infusion: For a relaxing infusion, place a CBD flower in a tea infuser and leave to steep for 1 to 2 minutes (you can make several infusions with the same flower on the same day, much like you would with tea). You can also add a splash of milk or a touch of honey to this infusion for a sweeter, more indulgent flavour.
- Ingestion: Incorporate crumbled CBD flowers into your cooking, whether sweet or savoury. They can be used as a culinary herb, adding a powerful woody note to your salads, or can be mixed into cannabis butter or special cakes.
- Vaping: Crush a piece of hemp flower between your fingers or use a grinder to produce fine fragments. Then place these fragments in the chamber of your vaporiser and heat to between 180 and 210 °C for the best vaping experience.
These different methods offer creative and effective ways to enjoy the benefits of CBD, tailored to your personal preferences and specific needs.
The exceptional combination of quality and value offered by Valvichanhre flowers, grown organically in the farm’s living soil, is unrivalled. We take particular care of our plants so that you can enjoy the very best care for yourself.
